Animal rights activists launch grant in memory of AFP’s fallen journalist
In memory of AFP video reporter Arman Soldin, activists with the UAnimals NGO announced a UAH 100,000 grant for volunteers and shelters for the rescue of hedgehogs in war zones.
That’s according to Olha Chevhaniuk, UAnimals co-founder, who spoke with an Ukrinform correspondent.
According to her, Arman Soldin reached out to UAnimals just last week.
"A French journalist came to Ukraine for war reporting. He found a hedgehog in one of the trenches. Together with his team, Armand gave the weak animal water and took it along to heal before releasing it back into the wild. The AFP agency reported that Armand Soldin was killed at the front. In memory of Soldin and his big heart, UAnimals opens a UAH 100,000 grant for volunteers and shelters that rescue hedgehogs," she said.
To apply for a grant, an application must be filed.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, on May 9, AFP journalist Arman Soldin was killed by a Russian missile near Chasiv Yar, not far from Bakhmut.
