Russian army injures 1,015 children in Ukraine

The Russian army has killed 487 children in Ukraine and left 1,015 others injured.

According to Ukrinform, the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office said this in a post on Telegram.

"As of the morning of June 11, 2023, more than 1,502 children have been affected in Ukraine as a result of Russia's full-scale armed aggression. According to official information from juvenile prosecutors, 487 children were killed and more than 1,015 sustained injuries of varying degrees of severity," the report reads.

These figures are not final, as work is ongoing to establish them in areas of hostilities and in temporarily captured and liberated territories.

Most child casualties were recorded in the Donetsk region - 464, Kharkiv region - 283, Kyiv region - 128, Kherson region - 105, Zaporizhzhia region - 91, Mykolaiv region - 89, Dnipropetrovsk region - 80, Chernihiv region - 71, Luhansk region - 67.

On Saturday, June 10, a 13-year-old girl was injured by enemy shelling in the Odesa region.

According to Ukraine's Permanent Representative to the UN, Sergiy Kyslytsya, the UN Security Council identified six grave violations affecting children the most in times of war, including recruitment and use of children, killing and maiming, sexual violence, attacks against schools or hospitals, abduction, denial of humanitarian access for children.
