Ukraine Army gets vehicles seized from ex-MPs Medvedchuk, Kozak's relatives
Employees of Ukraine's State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) have handed over 17 vehicles seized from the relatives of former MPs Viktor Medvedchuk and Taras Kozak, charged with high treason, to a Ukrainian Armed Forces brigade.
That's according to the SBI's press service, Ukrinform reports.
"The value of the vehicles is $1.1 million. In particular, 12 trucks, a mobile crane, a minibus, a van and two SUVs were handed over [to the Ukrainian army]," the report reads.
The vehicles belonged to an enterprise owned by the relatives of Medvedchuk and Kozak, involved in the financing of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine. They are also the subjects of criminal proceedings regarding the illegal extraction of sand at two quarries in the Lviv region.
At the request of the SBI, in April 2022, the vehicles were seized as part of the investigation into suspected abuse of power and violation of the rules of protection or use of subsoil (Article 364 and Article 240 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
