Poland to unite media regulators from Eastern Europe to counter Russian propaganda
In September 2023, nine Eastern European media regulators will hold a meeting to develop a strategy for combating Russian propaganda.
The relevant statement was made by Head of the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine Olha Herasymiuk in an interview with Ukrinform.
“In order to convey to Western European societies the threat of disinformation from Russia, Poland’s media regulator initiated the unification of nine media regulators of Eastern European countries. Together, we will promote the strategy for combating Russian propaganda in the EU, explain the context of the war. A special meeting dedicated to the creation of this association of Eastern European countries is expected to be held in Warsaw this September,” Herasymiuk told.
In her words, Ukraine will take part in drawing up the agenda of the meeting.
