Kyiv to host 3rd Crimea Platform summit on Aug 23
The third International Summit of the Crimea Platform, dedicated to Ukraine's vision for the future of temporarily occupied Crimea and security issues in the Black Sea region, will be held in Kyiv on August 23 in a hybrid format.
Ukraine's First Deputy Foreign Minister Emine Dzhaparova said this in a speech at the opening of the International Forum of the Crimea Platform Expert Network entitled "Foreseeing the Future: Expert View," according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"On August 23, the third International Summit of the Crimea Platform will be held in Kyiv in a hybrid format. [...] It will be devoted, among other things, to issues of recovery and the future of Crimea - how Ukraine sees Crimea, and issues of security, particularly Black Sea security," Dzhaparova said.
She recalled that the countries of the Global South joined the Crimea Platform last year, and today 61 countries and international organizations are its participants. The task of this year's summit is to expand the geography of the Crimea Platform, she said.
Dzhaparova said that on the eve of the Crimea Platform summit, an expert discussion will be held on August 22. Working groups have already been formed to prepare for these two events, and today the head of state will hold a meeting to discuss the whole range of organizational issues.
