Zelensky meets with doctors treating Ukrainian soldiers in Dnipropetrovsk region

During a working trip to Dnipropetrovsk region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky visited a medical facility where Ukrainian defenders are undergoing treatment.

The Head of State met with doctors and congratulated them on the Day of Medical Worker, the President’s Office informs.

"Thank you for saving our boys and girls. For giving all your time and energy to restore the health of our warriors. We highly respect you and are proud that we have such doctors," the President noted.

Zelensky wished the medics and all Ukrainians victory above all.

"You are the same heroes as the military. I wish you and your families health," the Head of State added.

He presented state awards and decorations to medical workers.

In particular, Major General of the Medical Service Andriy Verba, under whose leadership hundreds of wounded Ukrainian service members' lives were saved, received the Presidential Cross of Combat Merit from the President.

As the President’s Office noted, Verba personally performed more than 460 surgical interventions related to gunshot and penetrating shrapnel injuries and other surgical pathologies of various severity.
