Vereshchuk: Local authorities, communities to play important role in socialization of veterans
Local authorities and communities will play an important role in returning veterans to civilian life.
This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk, Ukrinform reports with reference to the Ministry of Reintegration.
She visited the Center for Mental Health and Rehabilitation of Veterans "Lisova Poliana" in Kyiv region, where a strategic session on the modernization of state veteran policies was held.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Reintegration, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry of Economy, the Office of the President, as well as non-governmental and charity organizations.
As noted, the rehabilitation and resocialization of veterans was discussed. According to Vereshchuk, local authorities and communities will play an important role in returning veterans to civilian life.
The participants in the strategic session focused on identifying problems in veteran policy and finding working solutions. This concerns physical and mental rehabilitation, at the same time, issues of socio-economic integration are no less important.
"Our task as a state is to do everything so that veterans feel dignity, safety, and trust. That's why we have to improve and form a high-quality state veteran policy," Vereshchuk said.
