Lubinets, President of Portugal discuss return of children deported by Russia

Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets discussed the return of children deported by Russia with President of Portugal Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.

"A warm and very open meeting with President of Portugal Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa. The return of deported children, the Ukrainian Peace Formula, interaction between our institution and the Portuguese delegation... Discussion of specific things that we can implement in the near future," the Ombudsman posted on Telegram.

He noted that he had received an invitation to visit Portugal and invited the President of Portugal or his representatives to join the annual conference dedicated to Human Rights Day.

At the Center for the Protection of Children's Rights, the Portuguese president spoke with a girl – according to Lubinets, "it was very emotional."

The Ombudsman thanked Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa for helping Ukraine.

As reported, the President of Portugal arrived on a visit to Kyiv for the first time.
