Help to IDPs: 2,200 accommodation facilities deployed across Ukraine
In Ukraine, there are 2,200 state facilities where internally displaced persons can be temporarily housed.
That’s according to the Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights, Ruslan Horbenko, who spoke in an interview with Ukrinform.
"The State Property Fund has already drawn the list of facilities in our regions that can be used for the temporary accommodation of IDPs," he noted.
Horbenko added that a total of 2,200 such facilities have been designated throughout Ukraine.
The deputy head of the parliamentary committee clarified that out of the total number, approximately 200 facilities are fully prepared to house internally displaced Ukrainians.
"All of them (state-owned real estate - ed.) will become home, albeit temporary, for those displaced people who need it. Currently, our citizens are actively evacuating Kharkiv region, and we understand that there are definitely locations where we can accommodate them," the lawmaker concluded.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, MPs and government officials had been working on the inventory and creation of a map of facilities potentially suitable for accommodating internally displaced persons.
