Zelensky to Ukrainians abroad: We need able hands
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, said he would support the decision of Ukrainians who had been forced to flee country due to the war to return to their home country.
The Ukrainian Head of State announced this during a joint press conference in Berlin with Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz, Ukrinform reports.
"Today we cannot force anyone (to return), but I’d say frankly, we would support the decision if today, at such a difficult moment, those willing could come to Ukraine and help us restore the state. There are directions that need to be worked on today, there are people who have been left without homes, they need help, they need able hands," Zelensky said, answering a question from an Ukrinform correspondent.
The president added that, in his opinion, massive-scale recovery will certainly begin after the war ends.
"I am sure that after the end of the war, everyone will return to rebuild our state, there will be jobs, there will be security, there will be great motivation," the president noted.
As reported, the Ukraine Recovery Conference is taking place in Berlin today with the participation of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, and the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Olaf Scholz.
More than 2,000 politicians, diplomats, business CEOs, local officials, and civil society leaders from different countries take part in the two-day event.
