Zelensky congratulates police officers on their professional holiday

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has thanked employees of the National Police of Ukraine for their service.

According to Ukrinform, a letter of congratulations on Ukraine's National Police Day has been posted on the Facebook page of the head of state.

"I thank all our police officers who defend life and Ukraine. They fight for our country on the front lines. They ensure law and order in the rear. They help maintain the normality of life in the frontline and border areas. They rescue people after Russian strikes, evacuating them from dangerous areas," Zelensky said.

He also thanked police officers who help those affected by crimes and bring justice to Ukraine by documenting all the circumstances and building the evidence base of Russian war crimes.

"I thank everyone who has chosen to serve Ukraine! Congratulations on Ukraine's National Police Day!" Zelensky said.

Ukraine's National Police Day is marked annually on July 4 in accordance with a presidential decree of April 4, 2018 - in honor of the event in 2015, when the first patrol police officers took the first oath on Sophia Square in Kyiv.
