Sending fake emails: police open case at request of head of Kyiv RMA

Police in Kyiv region have opened a criminal investigation into fraudsters sending letters on behalf of Ruslan Kravchenko, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, asking for assistance to Ukrainian defenders.

This is stated in the response of the Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv Region to an information request from Ukrinform.

"This fact is being investigated in a separate criminal proceeding on the grounds of a criminal offence under Part 4 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine [fraud]," the statement said.

As reported, on 12 June, the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration said that he had appealed to the police in connection with the distribution of fake letters on his behalf to help the military.

According to Kravchenko, the fraudsters asked in these letters to help the 114th Brigade of the TRO with the necessary military equipment, and "did not hesitate to ask for money - to transfer 90 thousand to a specific bank account".
