National Guard, Red Cross agree on cooperation

Ukraine's National Guard and the Ukrainian Red Cross Society have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation and Partnership.

The National Guard's press service announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"The Ukrainian Red Cross Society plays a supporting role in the implementation of state humanitarian policy and in the field of medicine. Physical and mental rehabilitation of veterans returning from the front to civilian life is one of the main areas we are developing. The Ukrainian Red Cross Society is ready to provide comprehensive assistance to support veterans and their families," Director General of the National Committee of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society Maksym Dotsenko said.

The main areas of cooperation include joint measures for psychosocial support for National Guard veterans and their family members; information and explanatory activities about the risks of explosive items and the rules of safer behavior; assistance in carrying out recovery measures for National Guard psychologists, training of mental health specialists, including training and support of supervisors from among psychologists of the National Guard; social support for family members of soldiers who were killed, were captured or disappeared, and the provision of support to such families from the Ukrainian Red Cross Society.

In addition, Red Cross representatives handed over special information stands that will help National Guard specialists carry out measures to prevent the risk of explosive items, as well as during training on the rules of safe behavior of civilians, including children.
