Resident of Chernihiv passed data on Ukrainian military facilities to Russia - PGO

Law enforcement officers detained a resident of Chernihiv who, according to the investigation, was spying for the enemy - passing data on military facilities to the Russians.

This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office in Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

“Under the procedural supervision of the Chernihiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, a local resident was notified of suspicion of high treason committed under martial law (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code),” the press service said.

According to law enforcement, in October 2024, she began cooperating with a representative of the Russian Federation via Telegram, agreeing to his proposal to collect information about military facilities in Chernihiv.

“For a monetary reward, the suspect recorded military targets using a special application that added data on the time and place of shooting to photos and videos. She transferred the materials to the curator through the same messenger, and received the money on a crypto wallet,” the PGO said.

It is noted that the defendant planned to purchase a portable video camera to be installed near one of the facilities to fulfill a new task.

“The camera was supposed to transmit data on the actions of the Armed Forces in real time. However, her activities were exposed in time and the woman was detained before the next task. During the searches, a camera and a cell phone with evidence of cooperation with the enemy were seized from her. A custody was imposed on the suspect as a measure of restraint,” the PGO added.
