Klitschko brothers included in Guinness World Records
Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko have been included in the Guinness World Records as champions who won the most boxing heavyweight world title fights, according to the website of Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
"Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko have been included in the Guinness World Records as the champion brothers who had the largest number of fights. This was announced at a gala evening at the 56th Convention of the World Boxing Council (WBC), which opened in Kyiv today [on October 1]," reads the statement.
"This award is a surprise for me. Our record with Wladimir is a record for all those who supported the Klitschko brothers, who rooted for us and for Ukraine. We have always defended the honor of our country," WBC Eternal Champion Vitali Klitschko said.
The Convention of the World Boxing Council (WBC) is held in Kyiv from October 1 to October 5. The world's boxing legends Lennox Lewis, Erik Morales, Evander Holyfield and other legendary boxers arrived in the Ukrainian capital. The presidents of the federations of WBC member states, judges, sports managers and sports functionaries also arrived. In total, about 700 participants from 166 countries came to Kyiv to participate in the WBC Convention.
