Zelensky at URC 2024: Ukraine has clear plan to build up to 1GW of gas generation capacity this year
Ukraine has all the natural basis required for modern energy solutions.
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky in Berlin during an opening speech at the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2024, Ukrinform reports.
The Head of State noted that gas generation would solve the issue of energy shortage today, and later it would be switched to hydrogen and balance the new “green” energy. He also emphasized that European and, in particular, German companies are technological leaders in this field.
“It is in this area that we have a clear plan to build up to 1 GW of capacity this year and another 4 GW in the next few years. It is in this area that we are signing the first contracts at our Conference. And it is for this purpose that we need your maximum leadership,” Zelensky said.
The president called for maximum efforts aimed to preserve the existing generation and restore the capacities destroyed by Russian aggression.
As reported, the Ukraine Recovery Conference focuses on four main topics: private sector involvement in recovery, social recovery and human capital, community and regional recovery, and EU accession and related reforms.
