Germany has sent 16 trucks to Ukrainian energy companies.

The German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) said this in a press release seen by Ukrinform.

The powerful trucks are versatile and will be used throughout the country to ensure the flexible and fast transportation of sand and gravel and to eliminate the aftermath of destruction, GIZ said.

Eight trucks have already been delivered, and eight more are expected to arrive in the near future. The total value of the trucks is EUR 2.3 million, GIZ said.

The Ukrainian Energy Ministry reported that part of the vehicles had already been delivered to energy companies in the Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, and Ternopil regions. Operators of the distribution system in the Zaporizhzhia and Cherkasy regions will receive the remaining vehicles, and additional vehicles will be sent to the Kharkiv and Mykolaiv regions.

During the handover of the trucks, Ukraine's Deputy Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk and German Ambassador to Ukraine Martin Jaeger discussed areas of cooperation to increase the capacity of distributed generation in Ukraine before the beginning of the heating season as well as the results of the Ukraine Recovery Conference recently held in Berlin.
