United24: In Irpin, multi-story building destroyed by Russia at beginning of full-scale war restored
In Irpin, Kyiv region, thanks to the United24 fundraising platform, a residential high-rise building at 42 Davydchuk Street, destroyed by Russian troops at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, has been restored and put into operation.
The head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Ruslan Kravchenko reported this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
The head of the Regional Military Administration reminded that some apartments in this high-rise building were destroyed by the invaders. Today the house is as good as new.
"The scope of work is enormous - the roof, ceilings, walls, facade have been restored, and all damaged windows, doors, and balconies have been replaced. Entrances have been repaired, damaged apartments have been repaired, water and gas supply has been arranged, and there are recreation areas and playgrounds near the house. People are gradually settling into their repaired homes, and children's laughter can be heard on the playground," Kravchenko said.
According to him, the United24 ambassador, the famous French director Michel Hazanavicius, joined the fundraiser for the reconstruction of this house.
In total, it is planned to rebuild 18 apartment buildings in the Kyiv region at the expense of this platform. Before the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, more than 4,000 people lived in them.
"We will soon put into operation a number of other buildings. UNDP is providing independent technical supervision of the reconstruction," Kravchenko added.
As reported earlier, an apartment building destroyed by Russians was restored in the Bucha district of the Kyiv region.
