Bondarenko, Bubka qualify for 2012 Sony Ericsson Open in Miami

. Ukrainian Kateryna Bondarenko and Sergei Bubka have successfully qualified for the 2012 Sony Ericsson Open in Miami (USA) with prize money of USD 4.82 million, the tournament's official website reported.

In the second round of women's qualifying singles Bondarenko prevailed over Croatian Mirjana Lucic 4:6, 6:2, 6:4, and Bubka defeated Swiss Marco Chiudinelli 6:3, 3:1 in the men's event.

In the tournament's opener the Ukrainian will face Ernests Gulbis of Latvia, and Bondarenko will take on Polish Urszula Radwanska, and Sergiy Stakhovsky will meet Australian Bernard Tomic. Ukraine's No.1 Alexandr Dolgopolov will proceed from the second round.
