Several sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the Russian Federation planned a terrorist attack on the Chornobyl nuclear power plant (NPP).
Adviser to the Head of the Ukrainian President's Office, Mykhailo Podoliak, said this at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"According to operative data, several sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the Russian Federation planned a terrorist attack on the Chornobyl nuclear power plant, which could have caused a huge environmental catastrophe,” he said.
According to Podoliak, such intentions of Russia significantly change the picture of what is happening in Ukraine.
"It is clear that Russia does not just want to overthrow the government in the country or replace it with any puppet performers. It wants to cause destruction in Ukraine as much as possible and even environmental destruction," Podoliak said.
