Russian invasion update: Occupiers imitate air combat above Chornobyl zone
The Russian occupation troops are imitating air combat above the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone to produce fake news.
The relevant statement was made by the State Agency of Ukraine on Exclusion Zone Management on its Facebook page, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Right now they are imitating air combat above the Chornobyl zone. We have information about preparations for producing provocative news for the global mass media, claiming that Ukraine is shelling occupiers in Chornobyl above the dangerous objects. There are no Ukrainian troops in Chornobyl. Ukraine does not conduct military operations in Chornobyl,” the report states.
The radiation levels within the Chornobyl zone increased due to the movement of the aggressor state’s military vehicles. The staff members of enterprises located within the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone were staying in service until the last moment, reliably performing their duties to ensure security and physical protection despite the circumstances.
At the moment, the condition of some employees, Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant’s facilities, confinement and radioactive waste storage facilities is unknown.
A reminder that, on February 24, 2022, Head of the Ukrainian President’s Office Mykhailo Podoliak reported that Ukraine’s military lost control over Chornobyl NPP.
