Aggressor's fleet announces "counter-terrorist operation" in Ukrainian waters
This was reported by the Ukrainian border guards, according to Ukrinform.
"The presence of ships and vessels in the area will be regarded as a terrorist threat," said the statement issued by the Russian navy through open navigation safety channels.
The State Border Guard Service stressed that it’s the Ukrainian coast, not Russian, in the northwest part of the Black Sea.
As reported earlier, overnight Saturday, February 26, an enemy drone attacked the ship of the Marine Guards of Ukraine, Hryhoriy Kuropiatnikov. The drone was later shot down on the approach to the Black Sea, while the ship continued to operate unharmed.
In the morning, border guards of the Izmail detachment observed enemy drones flying in the area. The aggressor's UAVs conducted reconnaissance over the Black Sea coast and the Danube River from an altitude of about 1 km.
On February 24, the leader of the aggressor power, Vladimir Putin, announced the launch of a special military operation in Donbas. Martial law has been imposed throughout Ukraine. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on general mobilization.
