Ukraine parliament proposes UNGA set up tribunal to investigate Putin's crimes
The address was read out by Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"We appeal to the UN General Assembly to establish a special tribunal to investigate the crimes of the Putin regime against Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova and other countries. We appeal to the world to sever diplomatic relations with Russia and not recognize it as a member of the UN. After all, the UN Charter refers exclusively to peace-loving states that implement this charter. After committing barbaric crimes against the people of Ukraine, there is no place for Russia among the civilized nations of the world. Contacts with it are possible only after the aggression is stopped and the dictatorial bloody regime is changed," Stefanchuk said.
The Ukrainian parliament also called on the whole world to recognize Russia as a terrorist state.
In addition, the Verkhovna Rada appeals to the world not to recognize the legitimacy of war criminal Putin and to completely isolate him on the world stage.
"We thank our international partners for the hellish sanctions against the aggressor country. And once again we call for an immediate closure of the skies over Ukraine!" Stefanchuk added.
The Ukrainian parliament emphasizes that the criminal Putin regime has created a real humanitarian catastrophe in a peaceful democratic Ukraine. In particular, late on February 26, Kyiv and other peaceful cities were brutally shelled by the enemy. Ballistic missiles were fired at a number of facilities.
Russian occupation forces provoked a real environmental catastrophe by bombing an oil depot in Vasylkiv and hitting a radioactive facility in Kyiv, the cemetery of the Radon Association branch in Kyiv.
In addition, ballistic missiles were fired at Kharkiv.
"Putin's occupiers are throwing numerous sabotage groups into Ukraine, killing civilians. In Kyiv, such a group shot dead a family with three children, a 9-year-old girl and her parents died, and two children in intensive care. Ukraine mourns civilian and military victims, children, women, the elderly, men," Stefanchuk said.
