Russian invasion update: Russian missile hits residential building in Chernihiv
In the center of Chernihiv city, northern Ukraine, a Russian missile hit a residential building, causing fire.
"At 02:45, a missile hit a residential building in the center of Chernihiv. A fire broke out, two lower floors are on fire. The number of injured is currently unknown," the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine posted on Telegram.
Oleksandr Ivchenko, spokesman for the State Emergency Service Department in Chernihiv region, told Suspilne media outlet that one women had got minor injuries and the fire had been put out already.
Earlier it was reported that explosions had been heard in Kyiv and Kharkiv.
Russian president Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine on February 24 and launched a large-scale invasion. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure. Missiles hit residential buildings.
Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.
Ukraine officially filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation at the UN International Court of Justice in The Hague.
