Ground Forces Commander: All aggressors’ attempts to break through Kyiv defense have failed
As the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine posted on Facebook, columns of Russian troops repeatedly tried to storm the outskirts of Kyiv. However, all enemy movements were under control, and timely decisions were made by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The situation in Kyiv is under control, the Ground Forces assured.
"All attempts of the Russian-occupation forces to achieve their goal failed. Columns of the occupier's equipment were destroyed. The enemy suffered significant personnel losses," said Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi, Ukraine’s Ground Forces Commander – Commander of Kyiv defense.
According to him, Russian troops are demoralized and exhausted.
"We have shown that we know how to protect our home from uninvited guests," Syrskyi added.
Putin declared war on Ukraine on February 24 and launched a large-scale invasion. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure. Missiles hit residential buildings.
Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the losses of the Russian army currently total about 4,500 people.
Ukraine officially filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation at the UN International Court of Justice in The Hague.
