Enemy continues to shell Chernihiv. Residential buildings under fire

The enemy is mercilessly shelling Chernihiv, private houses and multi-storey apartment blocks come under fire.

“As of 12:20 on February 28, intensive shelling of Chernihiv is ongoing: Belova, Rokosovskoho, Dotsenko, Pukhova streets. Private houses and multi-storey apartment blocks come under fire. A fire broke out near the Epitsentr household shop,” the press service of the State Emergency Service posted on Telegram.

As a result of the artillery attack, the Epitsentr shop and 5 nearby houses caught on fire. Iryna Shchukina, spokeswoman for the Chernihiv Department of the State Emergency Service, confirmed the information in a comment to Suspilne media outlet.

Data on the injured are being clarified.

Russian president Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine on February 24 and launched a large-scale invasion. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure facilities. Missiles hit residential buildings.

Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.

Ukraine officially filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation at the UN International Court of Justice in The Hague.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the support of all Ukrainian people, courageously resist the Russian aggression.
