Kherson and Kherson Region remain Ukrainian controlled – regional administration

The relevant statement was made by Kherson Regional State Administration Head Hennadii Lahuta on his Facebook page, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The city and the region have been neither occupied nor surrendered! According to the preliminary data, invaders are hiding in the city to prevent the Armed Forces of Ukraine from neutralizing them. There is also a probability that they want to create a live shield of civilians to leave Kherson safely,” Lahuta wrote.

In his words, an entrance to Kherson’s Fabrika Shopping Mall is on fire at the moment. Emergency crews have not been involved, as it is impossible to access the scene.

A reminder that Kherson Regional Military Administration warned local residents that no evacuation measures were underway. They are calling on local residents to not leave bomb shelters and not get into strangers’ cars.
