Verkhovna Rada drafting legislation to seize Russian assets in Ukraine
That’s according to Parliament’s press service, Ukrinform reports.
"Currently, the Committee is working closely with the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and other central government bodies on legislation to resolve the issue of nationalization of all property, facilities, funds, and deposits of the aggressor power in Ukraine," the statement said.
It is also noted that the committee is actively working and doing everything to defeat the enemy as soon as possible.
As reported, the Ministry of Economy, together with Ukrainian economic experts, has kicked off the process of fixating and assessing economic damage caused by the Russian invasion.
As reported earlier, the head of the aggressor power, Vladimir Putin, launched a “special military operation” in Donbas. On February 24, Russia went for a full-blown offensive against Ukraine, launching a massive invasion.
Russian troops are shelling and destroying key infrastructure, massively shelling residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages, employing artillery, multiple rocket launchers, and ballistic missiles.
Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.
Ukraine has filed a lawsuit against Russia with the UN International Criminal Court in The Hague.
