Kuleba responds to Lavrov's lies: “Tell your boss to stop shelling cities”

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has called on his Russian counterpart to tell his boss to stop the shelling and not to accuse Ukraine of obstructing evacuation of civilians.

Kuleba delivered his response via Twitter, Ukrinform reports.

“Russia’s barbaric war tactic is to manipulate the civilian suffering it itself inflicts. Now Lavrov accuses Ukraine of preventing civilian evacuations. Tell your boss to stop the indiscriminate shelling of Ukrainian cities. Show the world that Russia is serious about negotiations,” Kuleba wrote.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk said that Ukraine had appealed to the International Committee of the Red Cross to provide humanitarian convoys from Kherson and Mariupol with a white flag so that people could be evacuated. In order for the convoy to enjoy a neutral flag privilege, Russia must agree to such a convoy being deployed. At the same time, Russia is not agreeing to the effort – on the contrary – they have launched a massive information war against Ukraine over humanitarian convoys.

On February 24, the aggressor power, the Russian Federation, on the instructions of its leader Vladimir Putin, declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion.

Russian troops are shelling and destroying infrastructure, office buildings and households in Ukrainian cities and villages. Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.

Ukraine has filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation with the UN International Court of Justice in The Hague.
