Russian troops fire on railways, schools, kindergartens in Mariupol
"The situation in Mariupol remains difficult. The members of the National Guard of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to perform tasks related to the defense of the city," the press service of the National Guard of Ukraine posted on Facebook.
It is specified that the Russian troops choose the tactics of incessant bombardment of the town in order to destroy its infrastructure, including railways. At the same time, as specified, the attacks are launched even on residential houses, schools, kindergartens.
"The members of the National Guard of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine are not going to surrender the town and will fire back at the invaders. Ukrainian forces will also continue eliminating enemy sabotage groups on the outskirts of Mariupol," the National Guard informs.
As reported, on February 24, Russian president Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion.
Russian troops are killing civilians, shelling and destroying key infrastructure facilities, and missiles hit Ukrainians' homes.
Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced. The Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the support of the entire nation, courageously resist Russian aggression.
