Heavy battle underway near Mariupol

The relevant statement was made by the National Guard of Ukraine on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Ukrainian defenders are keeping the defense in Mariupol and not allowing the enemy to enter the city. Meanwhile, the group, which is overwhelming in numbers, is trying to break the defense line and get into the city. Now it is important to keep Mariupol under control, as it is the last city, which does not allow for creating a land corridor between Russia and Crimea,” the report states.

According to the National Guard of Ukraine, it is important to not lose Mariupol, as it is Ukraine’s last fortress in Pryazovia.

A reminder that, on February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin initiated a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, starting a war.
