Putin tells Scholz third round of Russia-Ukraine talks to be held over weekend
Russian President Vladimir Putin told German Chancellor Olaf Scholz about this in a phone call, Ukrinform reports with reference to the German government.
It is noted that the call lasted an hour.
The chancellor called on the Russian leadership to immediately cease all hostilities and provide humanitarian access to the war-struck areas.
"President Putin has informed the chancellor that Russia and Ukraine have planned a third round of talks this weekend," the statement said.
The German government added that Scholz and Putin had agreed to hold further talks in the near future.
As reported, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion. Russian troops are shelling and destroying infrastructure, massively shelling residential areas across Ukrainian cities and towns, using artillery, MLR systems, and ballistic missiles.
