All clinics, maternity hospitals in Kyiv remain open, doctors on combat duty – Mayor Klitschko
This was reported by Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko via Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"Kyiv keeps living and working under martial law. The city's critical infrastructure is functioning smoothly. The metro operates in a limited mode and as a shelter for Kyivites," Klitschko said.
The mayor also said that he had visited one of Kyiv's hospitals today. “I spoke with the doctors about whether they have everything they need. I talked to patients. I also saw a wounded ambulance driver, who was hit by shrapnel as he was taking a patient to the hospital. Our doctors are real heroes, ready to defend Kyiv, heal and save people's lives. I thank them for that,” he said.
As reported, on February 24, Russia declared war on Ukraine. Russian troops invaded Ukraine from the north, east, and south – from the occupied Crimea. They have been destroying cities, killing civilians, shelling critical infrastructure and households.
Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.
