Russia's audacity shows sanctions “not enough” - Zelensky

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine is convinced that Russia is behaving audaciously because the sanctions imposed on it are insufficient and there is no vision of the world's determination to stop the war.

He stated this in a video address to the nation, Ukrinform reports.

"The audacity of the aggressor is a clear signal to the West that sanctions against Russia are not enough, because they did not understand, did not feel, did not see that the world is really determined, that the world really wants to stop this war," said the president.

Zelensky also stressed that the world would not be able to hide from reality and new murders in Ukraine.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion. Russian troops have been killing civilians, shelling and destroying key infrastructure, and their missiles have been hitting Ukrainian households.

Ukraine has filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation with the UN International Criminal Court in The Hague.

International Criminal Court Prosecutor Karim Khan has launched an investigation into the situation in Ukraine.
