Several residential houses have been destroyed in a bomb strike launched by Russian invaders in the city of Sumy.

The relevant statement was made by Sumy Regional State Administration Head Dmytro Zhyvytskyi on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

There is a continuous movement of Russian military vehicles in Sumy Region.

On March 7, 2022, there were losses among territorial defense forces.

“Our men fought against a whole column of enemy military vehicles. Their car was shot. Some of them were wounded. Unfortunately, four young men were killed in an unequal battle with the Russian military,” Zhyvytskyi told.

An air strike was also launched on Sumy suburbs. In some settlements, residential houses were destroyed in a bomb strike. On Romenska Street, a few private residential houses were destroyed completely, killing 10 persons, including children.

In Okhtyrka, Russian invaders were bombarding residential areas. Critical infrastructure facilities also came under bombardment and shelling, namely Okhtyrka Combined Heat and Power Plant (CHPP).

The Armed Forces of Ukraine assisted Sumy Region with Bayraktar vehicles. As a result, four large columns of enemy armored vehicles, most of which were moving towards Sumy, were stopped.
