Russian prisoners will work on restoring Ukraine's economy – Yenin
First Deputy Interior Minister of Ukraine Yevhen Yenin said this on the air of Ukrainian TV channels, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
When asked what Ukraine will do with the captured Russian soldiers, the deputy interior minister said that first of all Ukraine will strictly adhere to all norms of the international humanitarian law: "And this is what distinguishes us from the Russian aggressor, who shoots at civilians, launches rocket and bomb attacks on residential buildings. And I'm not even talking about the treatment of our servicemen."
Yenin stressed that Ukraine will use all the opportunities provided by the Geneva Conventions in relation to Russian prisoners.
"We will use all the opportunities envisaged in the Geneva Conventions in this regard. That is, the use of labor, etc. All these people will later work on restoring Ukraine's economy," he said.
As reported, on February 24, Russia declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion.
