Kuleba outlines who should sign new security guarantees for Ukraine
"Of course, we do not need the second Budapest Memorandum, because all it stipulates in case of threat to Ukraine is consultations among the Budapest Memorandum participants. It's nothing ... These were not real guarantees," Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said during the nationwide telethon, Ukrinform reports.
Kuleba called for real, tough guarantees for Ukraine to be signed by the UN Security Council permanent members, Russia, and other countries, depending on the diplomatic configuration that will be formed.
The key task of President Volodymyr Zelensky and Ukrainian diplomacy is the security of the state in the long run, the minister stressed.
"The first step of this security is the cessation of the war, the second is our territories, followed by the development of Ukraine in safe environment," Ukraine’s top diplomat summed up.
