Ukrainian military captured thousands of Russian soldiers - adviser to interior minister
Vadym Denysenko, an adviser to the interior minister, said this on the Rada TV channel, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"The total number of prisoners amount to about thousands. I do not have the authority to voice the [exact] number," he said.
According to Denysenko, Russian prisoners will be taken to one center, where they will be placed.
“After that, in accordance with all international conventions, they may work on rebuilding Ukraine. They will rebuild what the Russian army has ruined,” the minister said.
As reported, on February 24, Russia declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure. Missiles hit residential buildings.
Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.
Ukraine officially filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation with the UN International Court of Justice in The Hague.
