Mariupol is under siege by Russian invaders, but the town is holding on and Ukrainians are fighting for it.

"The town is under siege. The occupiers left it without water, electricity, gas, communications. Negotiations with the Russians on the organization of a green humanitarian corridor to evacuate residents and deliver water and food to the town have not yet yielded results. But the town is holding on and fighting. And we are fighting for it," Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration Pavlo Kyrylenko posted on Facebook.

He reminded that two weeks of "Russian world" altered the unique pearl of Donetsk region – the town of Mariupol – beyond recognition. Russian planes and artillery raze modern hospitals, maternity hospitals, parks, shops, residential areas, and roads to the ground. Adults and children die under the fire of Russian invaders. Only on Wednesday, three people, including one child, were killed, 17 more were injured in the air raid on a maternity hospital.

Kyrylenko published a video in which you can see Mariupol a peaceful, beautiful and prosperous town before the war.

The war against Russian invaders has been going on in Ukraine since February 24.
