More than 1,000 more people evacuated from Irpin

The police officers of the Kyiv region department have helped rescue more than 1,000 people, including 100 children, in the town of Irpin.

"Today, March 10, law enforcement officers managed to evacuate civilians – women, children, and people with disabilities – from Irpin. People were taken to a safe place," the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine posted on Facebook.

As reported, on March 9, more than 3,000 people were evacuated from Irpin and Vorzel, Kyiv region, under fire by Russian invaders.

On February 24, Russian president Vladimir Putin announced the start of the invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops are shelling and destroying key infrastructure, missiles are hitting houses.

Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.
