House destroyed, casualties reported in Russian airstrike on Chernihiv

"As a result of the night airstrike, a Russian bomb hit a high-rise building on Myru Avenue. Rescuers are working on the scene. According to preliminary information, 1 person died. The information is being specified," Head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration Vyacheslav Chaus posted on Telegram.

The State Emergency Service clarified that the airstrike took place at 05:46. As a result, floors from the second to the ninth were ruined, the fire broke out. According to preliminary information, seven people were rescued, one person was killed, another one was injured. The works are ongoing.

Over the past day, 10 fires were reported in Chernihiv, 5 of which erupted due to shelling. Three people were killed in the fires.

The war against Russian invaders has been ongoing in Ukraine since February 24.
