IDPs from Mariupol arrive in Zaporizhia
According to Ukrinform, Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk said this in a video address.
''A [Mariupol-bound] humanitarian aid convoy with medicines and water remains blocked in the city of Berdiansk. Today, almost 150 cars managed to leave Mariupol via the same route," she said.
People were met in Zaporizhia and placed in a hub for IDPs, which is ready to receive those in need of shelter around the clock. If necessary, they will receive help from doctors and psychologists.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure, residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple launch rocket systems and ballistic missiles.
