SBU decries Russian military’s fake report on alleged Ukrainian provocation involving toxic substances
That’s according to the SBU press service, Ukrinform reported, referring to the agency’s official Telegram channel.
“A new fake spin by from the Russian defense ministry: it turns out that the SBU, allegedly ‘with the support of Western powers, is plotting a provocation against civilians with the use of poisonous substances.’ At the same time, it should be noted that the allegations of an ‘SBU provocation’ emerged after the Russian occupiers fired on a peaceful convoy outside Mariupol and dropped a bomb on the city drama theater, where hundreds of women and children were sheltering," the report says.
It is noted that such statements by the invaders are just an attempt to divert attention from another war crime, but no fake story is able to provide a cover-up for the genocide of civilians and the humanitarian catastrophe in Mariupol, the city that is being destroyed by Russian missiles and bombs.
"Officially, we note: the SBU, even in theory, cannot be preparing any provocations involving toxic substances. That’s because we don’t act the same way as occupiers! Our task is to protect Ukraine. And we are fulfilling it successfully, alongside our entire nation. And the invaders and occupiers will definitely be held accountable for their atrocities! And we will do everything to have their trial held in our heroic Mariupol!” the SBU added.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Russian defense ministry claimed that the Ukrainian side had allegedly prepared a provocation involving poisonous substances "to accuse Russia of using chemical weapons."
