Russian invaders struggle with staffing of combat units – General Staff
The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
As of 06:00 a.m., March 17, 2022, the condition, positions and nature of the actions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces remained practically unchanged. The Armed Forces of Ukraine continued to deal devastating blows to the enemy troops, which were attempting to consolidate and hold the defense of the captured frontiers.
Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders have destroyed the command post and support units of the 35th All-Military Army of the Eastern Military District of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The enemy losses are yet to be reported.
In addition, the Air Forces and the Air Defense Forces of the Ukrainian Land Forces destroyed 10 enemy air targets, namely two Su-34 bombers, three Su-34SM fighters, three helicopters and UAVs. The data on one more aircraft and pilots are yet to be updated.
Having failed to conduct a ground operation, the enemy continued to launch missile and air strikes on infrastructure and densely populated areas in Ukrainian cities.
Russian invaders continue to act insidiously in the information space, carrying out cyber attacks, physically destroying television and radio stations, implementing a mass information campaign to discredit the military and political leadership of Ukraine and the Defense Forces.
In addition, Russia continues to actively spread misinformation about the course of its so-called ‘special operation’ in Ukraine among its own people.
According to the General Staff, Russian troops continue to suffer losses. They are having big issues with the staffing of combat units and support forces.
The enemy’s personnel was demoralized, resulting in the growing number of deserters and refusals of Russian servicemen to take part in the war against Ukraine.
