Russian invaders take Hromadske journalist prisoner
"Our journalist Viktoria Roshchyna must have been taken prisoner by Russian occupiers. She made videos and wrote articles from hotspots in eastern and southern Ukraine all days of the Russian-Ukrainian war," Hromadske posted on Facebook.
On March 12, Hromadske was unable to contact Roshchyna.
Witnesses informed that the journalist was in temporarily occupied Berdyansk at the time.
On March 16, it was reported that Roshchyna had been detained by the Russian Federal Security Service probably on March 15. Currently, nothing is known about the woman's whereabouts.
"We made every effort to release the journalist in a private manner. But it turned out to be ineffective," the media outlet said.
Hromadske calls on the Ukrainian and international community to join in the information campaign and action to liberate Roshchyna.
As reported, on March 12, Oleh Baturin, a Kherson journalist and correspondent of the Novy Den newspaper and a member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, went missing. No information about his condition and whereabouts has been released to date.
