Mayor Boichenko: Russian invaders destroy Mariupol to make Ukrainians frightened
The relevant statement was made by Mariupol Mayor Vadym Boichenko during a telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“When I was moving with a convoy from Berdiansk to Mariupol, I asked the Russian officer: ‘Why have you done this to Mariupol?’. His answer was cynical, very harsh and terrible: ‘You must fear the Russian Army!’. Anyways, we do not fear the Russian Army, our soldiers do not fear, because we are on our land, and victory is indeed at our side today,” Boichenko told.
In his words, today the main task is to rescue as many Mariupol residents as possible.
According to Boichenko, it is necessary to organize a stable humanitarian corridor, at least for a week or two, to get all the people asking for help out of the city.
