Ukrainian Air Forces destroyed enemy plane, 12 UAVs and five missiles over past day
The relevant statement was made by the Air Forces Command on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
According to the Air Forces Command, they downed just one aircraft, as the enemy significantly reduced aviation activity within Ukraine’s air space and was launching massive missile strikes instead.
“Meanwhile, to carry out air reconnaissance and the further reconnaissance of objects hit with missile strikes, the occupiers are actively using different unmanned aerial vehicles, from operational and tactical ones to quadcopters, which are more and more often destroyed by the Ukrainian anti-aircraft defense units,” the report states.
According to the Air Forces Command, for two days in a row, Russian invaders have been using air terror, launching dozens of cruise and ballistic missiles on peaceful Ukrainian cities. Missiles were launched from the sea, surface and air outside Ukraine.
“Today Russian occupiers have launched six missiles on Lviv, hitting a fuel depot and the area of armored plant. However, it is clear why Lviv has become Putin’s target today. It is an obvious political slap on the President of the United States, who was just 10 minutes of the enemy missile’s flight away from the attacked Lviv,” the Ukrainian Air Forces noted.
According to the Air Forces Command, “after such an act of the Kremlin Führer, it is time to make a decision and hand over to Ukraine modern Western-made anti-aircraft missile systems, as well as F-15, F-16 or F-18 aircrafts, so that Ukrainian defenders could equally fight against the superior enemy forces”.
A reminder that, on February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin initiated a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, starting a war. Russian troops are shelling and destroying the key infrastructure facilities, launching missile and air strikes on Ukrainian cities and villages, killing civilians.
