Fighting continues on outskirts of Kyiv
An adviser to the Ukrainian interior minister, Vadym Denysenko, said this on Ukrainian TV channels, Ukrinform reports.
"Currently, fighting continues on the outskirts of Kyiv, we hear how the artillery works in the west of Kyiv. The General Staff said in its report that the Russians were trying to attack in the northwest of Kyiv and in the east of Kyiv. We are resisting, we are fighting, we continue to defend the city of Kyiv," Denysenko said.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure facilities, conducting massive shelling of residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles.
Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.
Ukraine has officially filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation with the UN International Court of Justice in The Hague.
