In the village of Yahidne, Chernihiv Region, more than 150 civilians, mainly women and children, have been held hostage in a school basement by Russian invaders.

The relevant statement was made by Chernihiv Regional Military Administration Head Viacheslav Chaus on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

In his words, people were kept in overcrowded conditions and unhygienic environments. Ruscists did not allow them to take the bodies of the dead out, and people had to stay near corpses.

“Yahidne. The school basement. Here, the enemy kept more than 150 people at the same time. They were allowed to go out. Sometimes, not often. Here, people were getting sick and died. Here, the living were next to the dead. Hunger. Thirst. Fear. Pain. Despair. A bucket as a toilet. Stuffiness,” Chaus wrote, posting photographs.

A reminder that, on April 3, 2022, three villages in Chernihiv Region were liberated from Russian invaders, namely Kolychivka, Yahidne and Ivanivka.
