Russian troops pushed out of Zhytomyr region – governor
Head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration Vitaliy Bunechko wrote this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"Every new day the Armed Forces bring us closer to the victory. The enemy was pushed out of Zhytomyr region and currently there are no Russian occupation troops in our region," Bunechko wrote.
According to him, the Russians left the northern communities, leaving behind not only military equipment but also "their own" trail, by mining peaceful houses.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure facilities, conducting massive shelling of residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles.
Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.
